Two very important changes for those who enjoy the first two games, and don't want to deal with animation timing or having to run away to safely use a health item. The changes allow players the option to interrupt their attacks with a dodge, and lets players instantly use health items instead of waiting for an animation. Featuring a very vague description that talks about default "more methodical" combat or "classic hack and slash" style combat, it took a trip to you tube in order to actually find out what the heck that meant. It seems the developers went a little too far into Souls territory for some fans, and they've given players a new combat option to make up for that fact. For me, it breaks down like this:ĭarksiders 2 = Zelda + God of War + Diablo (loot system added)ĭarksiders 3 = Zelda + God of War + Dark Souls (literal soul collection, Soul XP system lite, harder difficulty)
